The Discipline of Leather
Share
At R10, leather is not decoration. It is structure.
Leather Division was introduced not as an accessory program, but as a study in permanence. The card holder and wallet were designed to remove excess, refine proportion, and allow material to speak without interruption.
Material as Structure, Not Ornament
Most leather goods are overbuilt. Excess stitching. Excess hardware. Excess branding.
Discipline requires subtraction.
Edges are finished to disappear into the exterior tone. Contrast exists only in subtle warmth — a muted antique brass edge that becomes visible in certain light. Not for attention. For depth.
As the leather ages, the brass matures with it. Nothing becomes louder. Everything becomes quieter.
This is the intention behind Leather Division — permanence over trend.

Designed to Age Without Collapse
A wallet is handled daily. It absorbs movement, compression, and repetition.
If built incorrectly, it softens unevenly. It distorts.
Structure must exist inside the object, not on its surface.
The proportions in Leather Division were calculated to maintain stability over time. Weight is controlled. Thickness is deliberate. The object should age — not surrender.
This same philosophy informs our garment construction in Ready to Wear.
Permanence in a Culture of Speed
Leather does not respond to urgency. It responds to time.
In contrast to rapid seasonal turnover, R10 releases are controlled. Measured. Complete when introduced.
This discipline is also present in Mardi Gras Series, where timing is intentional and distribution limited by design.
Leather Division is not a trend cycle. It is a foundation.

Material integrity builds brand integrity.
When an object is constructed correctly, it requires no explanation.
Leather Division exists quietly — but permanently.
